Cow Killer Ant

Wingless wasp. Who knew, right? Saw this critter scurrying about in the parking lot of North Carolina ice cream store that looked like a giant strawberry (not pictured). Well, glad I didn't pick her up, or let the kids play with it since it turned out to be a cow killer, or velvet ant that is actually a wasp with a mean old sting. Only the ladies have no wings; dudes roll with wings.
